Moose trips are all about the adventure, and Canada is one of the best countries in the world for adventure activities! There are both free and included activities as well as activities that require an extra payment. The Moose guides will help you book optional activities for you as well as make sure you get there and back. The approximate prices are in CAD and paid directly either to your Moose guide or the activity operator.

You’ve chosen an accommodated tour, meaning all your accommodation is included for the standard nights of the trip. You’ll be staying in mixed-gender hostel dorm rooms, which provide a great opportunity to meet fellow travellers, socialize with other Moose guests, and save money compared to booking a private room or hotel.
Note: If you wish to stay in gender-specific dorm rooms, you can request this at the time of booking. Our hostel and hotel partners will do their best to accommodate your request, but we cannot guarantee availability.
Joining Your Trip
We will pick you up from the following hostel locations in Vancouver on Day 1 of the tour. Please be in the hostel lobby or out front, and ready to depart 15 minutes before your scheduled pick-up time.
HI Vancouver - Jericho Beach 07:30 1515 Discovery St, Vancouver
HI Vancouver - Downtown 07:50 1114 Burnaby St, Vancouver
Outside the Hotel Belmont 08:10 Corner Nelson and Granville Streets
Note: If you are staying at a different location in Vancouver, please arrange your own transport to one of these pick-up points.
Moose buses are safe and comfortable mini-coaches, seating between 13 and 24 passengers. They feature extra-large windows to take in the stunning views, air conditioning and heating for your comfort, and a sound system to keep the music playing!
Your included meals are listed in the What's Included section above. Each meal includes one complimentary non-alcoholic beverage, and any additional drinks will need to be purchased separately.
In regards to tap water, it's clean and safe to drink almost everywhere in Canada, unless otherwise indicated at a specific facility. We strongly encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle to refill at taps, instead of purchasing disposable plastic bottles that contribute to pollution. A reusable coffee or tea mug is also a great option!
We make grocery stops almost every day, allowing you to self-cater and save money. All of the hostels we stay at have kitchens available for Moose use (that rhymes!). You can prepare your own breakfast or dinner at the hostel if it’s not already included. Occasionally, your Moose guide may organize an optional group dinner, where you can contribute a few dollars and help with cooking or cleanup - it’s fun and affordable! Your guide may also suggest an optional group dinner at a local restaurant offering great value. On travel days, lunch is typically taken en route. Your guide will either stop in a town with several lunch options, or you may stop in the morning to pick up supplies for a picnic later in the day. Please remember, don’t feed the wildlife!
We recommend budgeting approximately CAD $20 to $40 per day for meals not included in the tour. Restaurant prices may be higher, and don’t forget to account for Canadian tax (5%) and tips (15-20%). Additionally, alcohol in British Columbia is subject to an extra 10% tax.
Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions. We can accommodate most requests.
Note: Day 1 & 2 - Special Items to Pack in Your Carry-On Bag
You'll have the opportunity to go paddleboarding on Skaha Lake in the afternoon of Day 1 and kayaking on Lake Revelstoke in the afternoon of Day 2! So, in case you haven’t already thought of it, be sure to pack your swimsuit and a towel in your carry-on bag on these days. This will save you and your Moose guide the hassle of digging your main bag out of the rear luggage storage when you arrive at the lake. Don't worry - there are washrooms and change rooms at the beach!
